Worker Taken to Hospital Following 40-foot Fall in Devon

A scaffolding fall in Devon in November saw a worker suffer from suspected head and chest injuries.

The incident occurred in Salcombe at around 1pm on 10th November. After falling around 40-feet from the scaffolding, Devon Air Ambulance attended the scene, transporting the man to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

As of yet, there are no further details on the cause of the fall, but the police ‘do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances’. The Health and Safety Executive has been notified to determine how and why the incident occurred.

Despite the fact that we don’t yet know the precise details of the fall, it does highlight the vital importance of following best practices when it comes to safe work at height at all times.
