Simian International’s Overseas Operations Director, Ian Fyall, recently attended the PASMA Middle East Conference and was thrilled to accept the prestigious ‘Long Service to PASMA’ award on behalf of Simian.
The conference, which took place in Abu Dhabi, was dedicated solely to the mobile access tower sector of the scaffolding industry. After last year’s successful inaugural conference, the event aims to promote scaffold tower best practices, ensuring the standards improve across the Middle East. Following an awards ceremony and networking dinner held on the previous evening, the one-day event saw a number of talks by industry experts.
We have a long history with this leading scaffolding industry body, as Simian have been members of PASMA within the UK since 2007, and since 2013 in the United Arab Emirates and our Overseas Operations Director, Ian Fyall, is a former Chairman of the PASMA training committee in the UK.
The award for Long Service to PASMA is a privilege to receive and is testament to the hard work of both the Simian Risk and International team. The accolade proves the company’s dedication to ensuring that safety standards for working at height are implemented across the globe.
Speaking of the event, Ian Fyall has said: “The event provided a wonderful opportunity for scaffolders and health & safety experts to come together and share their knowledge of scaffolding best practice. We have seen scaffolding safety come on leaps and bounds over the last few decades and we hope to see even further improvements as we continue our work, both within this region and across the world.”
