We are very pleased to announce that Simian International is launching the first CISRS approved scaffolding training centre in Saudi Arabia, in partnership with TAFE Arabia (Technical and Further Education).
The new training centre will open in Dammam, and will offer scaffolding trainees a number of courses, including:
- CISRS Overseas Scaffolding Training Scheme (OSTS) levels 1 & 2
- Basic Scaffold Inspection
- Scaffolding Supervisor
- OSTS CPD courses
With a strong presence in the Middle East due to training centres in Oman and Dubai, and plans for a further centre in Qatar, Simian International will once again be expanding its training capabilities, and supporting professional scaffolders within this region to ensure they work safely at height.
Overseas Operations Director at Simian International, Ian Fyall, and CISRS Scheme Manager, Dave Mosley, travelled to Saudi Arabia to join TAFE for the accreditation audit of the new training centre. Whilst there, CISRS, Simian and TAFE also attended a Scaffold Safety Awareness Workshop that had been organised by Saudi Aramco, a multinational oil and gas company. The workshop was attended by more than 100 professionals from across the region.
Speaking of the partnership, Ian Fyall, said: “Simian has had a lot of interest for training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have previously met with a number of providers. TAFE stood out from the crowd as they shared our ambition. We’ve worked together during the past 12 months to get this centre up and running to KSA standards.”
