CITB ceased card administration activity in December 2019 and it had initially been anticipated that card production would start again in early January. However, CISRS have reported that NOCN have encountered difficulties with their computer systems and as such, it is likely to be mid-February before production of the new ‘smart’ cards is underway.
Extra staff have been drafted in the deal with the backlog and interim ‘non-smart cards’ will be issued until the IT problems have been solved. After this, cards issued on an interim basis will be replaced, free of charge.
CISRS have requested that employers and clients adopt a sensitive approach to those in the industry who are currently affected by the delay, as this is beyond the card holders’ control, and they have advised that those querying the status of a CISRS card should call 0844 8157223 or email firstname.lastname@example.org If emailing, the subject line should be “CISRS Confirmation of Application” to ensure that the email is routed appropriately.
