HISTORY & EXPERIENCE

Simian Risk Management was founded on 1st November 2005. The two Directors and shareholders Simon Hughes and Ian Fyall have over 30 years experience in the scaffolding industry. We are both experienced health and safety advisors in the construction, power, nuclear and oil and gas industry. In the 3 years since Simian was formed we have gone from a basement in Chester to a 15,000 square foot Construction Industry Scaffolders Records Scheme training centre.

Simian are now working with blue chip clients as in Carillion, National Grid, Ocon, BP, BHP Billiton, Multibuild, Wates, Mansells and Scottish Power. We also work with some of the largest and smallest scaffold companies in the British Isles. Simian are just in the process of securing two major long term overseas contracts.

We are now established and our team are involved in scaffold inspection, scaffold training, scaffold design, research and development of new system scaffold products as well as working as expert witnesses.

We are information members of the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation, The North West Construction Safety Group, The Merseyside Construction and Safety Group, IOSH, Construction Awards Alliance, City and Guilds and British Standards.

Simian are also a training centre for  PASMA, the Prefabricated Access Manufacturers and Suppliers Association, we can train CISRS part one and two in Tube and Fitting, Layher, Kwikstage and Cuplok. This training can also be done for experienced scaffolders over two days.

As you can see Simian has come a long way in a short time and is a constant moving target. My saying is try the rest then come to the best ‘Simian'.
